Craig Sonntag was born in Nebraska, but lived in Manitowoc starting at the age of 3. His father and mother are both retired WELS teachers each with over 40 years of service to WELS congregations and high schools. He graduated from Manitowoc Lutheran High School and went on to Doctor Martin Luther College. After graduating from DMLC in 1989 he was called to St. Matthew’s in May of 1989. He has taught 7th & 8th grades at St. Matthew’s since 1989. While teaching in the late 1990’s, he went back to school and earned his Wisconsin State Teaching License. In 2008, he graduated from Walden University with a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in technology integration. He loves to coach and enjoys teaching the skills of any sport.
In his free time he loves to be outdoors, play golf, go up north, and travel with his family.
Craig says, "I consider it a privilege to teach God’s Word to His precious lambs at St. Matthew’s. May God bless the work that the congregation, parents, and staff do here at St. Matthew’s."
